Picking one of the hotels near Haneda Airport with free shuttle offers travellers arriving late or departing very early a level of comfort. I am asked by many people, arriving jetlagged and without the will to take on public transportation and traffic conditions, what options do I have to make my life easier. Picking a hotel near to the Haneda airport terminal with a complimentary shuttle is always top of my suggestions, especially if you are not on a tight travel schedule!
Not sure yet whether to fly into Haneda or Narita? See my Haneda vs Narita guide before you book.
In this guide I take you through some of the best options to start or end your trip without any added stress. A free shuttle bus service doesn’t have to break the bank either, I will provide something for hotel guests looking for a luxury hotel or budget options.
If you’re booking a Haneda hotel because you’re transferring from Narita the night before, check my Narita to Haneda transfer guide for which option to take and how much time to leave between flights.
As well as adding extra convenience and reduced travel time, you will normally get cheaper room rates than the majority of hotels in central Tokyo, so this is another consideration for travellers working with a tighter budget.

My Top Tip! Do not treat these free shuttles like a guaranteed anytime taxi. Most are first-come with limited seats. Check the direction, which terminals it stops at, and the last departure when you check in or book. The hotels tends to be very helpful and accommodating.
Hotel JAL City Haneda Tokyo

Rating: 8.5 Typically around ¥14,000 (£75) CHECK AVAILABILITY
A solid mid-range choice about 10 minutes from the airport, and a 4-minute walk from Anamori-Inari Station if you want to head into Tokyo straight away. The free shuttle is shared with the West Wing building next door and serves Terminals 1 and 3, morning and evening, with no seat booking needed. Rooms are on the compact side, which is normal this close to Haneda, but they are comfortable and well soundproofed. There are larger family rooms in this building if you need the space.
Pick this if you want a dependable mid-range base with a shuttle that runs both ends of the day.
Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu

Rating: 8.5 Typically around ¥26,000 (£135) CHECK AVAILABILITY
This is the one hotel on the list that needs no shuttle at all, because it is inside Terminal 2, connected straight to the departure floor. For an early flight out of T2 you can be checked in and at the gate in minutes. Flying from T1 or T3? The airport’s own free inter-terminal bus links them in a few minutes. Rooms are quiet and nicely finished, and the runway-view rooms are a real treat if you like watching planes. And if it is Terminal 3 you are flying from and you want that same zero-transfer feeling, Villa Fontaine Grand and the pricier Villa Fontaine Premier connect directly into T3.
Pick this if you have a very early or very late flight from Terminal 2 and want to remove every minute of transfer stress.

Hotel JAL City Haneda Tokyo West Wing

Rating: 8.5 Typically around ¥11,000 (£55) CHECK AVAILABILITY
The newer sister building to the main JAL City, opened in 2016, and usually a touch cheaper. It shares the same free shuttle to Terminals 1 and 3, morning and evening, and the same 4-minute walk to Anamori-Inari Station. Rooms are clean and minimalist, compact again, with good bedding. The early breakfast from around 4am is useful if you have a dawn flight. There are quadruple rooms here, so it is worth a look for families.
Pick this if you want the JAL City setup for a little less, or you need an early breakfast before a morning flight.
Haneda Inn

Rating: 7.8 Typically around ¥12,000 (£60) CHECK AVAILABILITY
A small, simple 2-star inn for travellers who just want a no-frills bed near the airport. It does offer a free airport pick-up, but unlike the bigger hotels here it needs arranging in advance. Confirm the pick-up directly with the hotel before you rely on it. Rooms are basic and small, the staff get good reviews, and there is a free breakfast.
Pick this if you want a quiet, low-cost stay and you are happy to message the hotel to sort the pick-up rather than turn up expecting a scheduled bus.
Henn na Hotel Tokyo Haneda

Rating: 8.1 Typically around ¥11,000 (£55) CHECK AVAILABILITY
The famous robot hotel, where dinosaurs and humanoid robots handle check-in. It is good fun and the rooms are clean and modern, if a little small. The shuttle is the real reason it’s on my list. Morning runs serve all three terminals hourly from around 04:45, and the night service goes until late, with last departures roughly 01:00 from Terminal 1 and 01:20 from Terminal 3. Two things to know. The evening shuttle does not stop at Terminal 2, and there is a long midday gap with no service, roughly 11:30 to 19:00. It is first-come, up to nine people.
Pick this if you are landing late at night at T1 or T3 and want a free ride when most hotel shuttles have stopped for the day. Or if you and the kids will enjoy the robot dinosaur checkin!
Keikyu EX Inn Innovation City

Rating: 8.2 Typically around ¥12,000 (£60) CHECK AVAILABILITY
A contemporary hotel in the Haneda Innovation City district, with a public onsen bath on-site, which is a welcome touch after a long flight. The free shuttle is geared squarely at early departures: morning only, roughly 04:30 to 10:05, every 20 to 45 minutes, stopping at all three terminals, no booking needed. There is no evening return, so you take the train back. Tenkubashi Station is a 2 to 3 minute walk and one stop from T3. Rooms are spotless but small.
Pick this if you have an early flight and want a frequent morning shuttle and an onsen.
Keikyu EX Inn Haneda

Rating: 8.2 Typically around ¥10,500 (£55) CHECK AVAILABILITY
Not to be confused with the Innovation City hotel above, this is a separate, simpler Keikyu EX Inn nearby. Its advantage over its sister is that the free shuttle runs both ways, a morning leg out and an evening leg back, with room for up to 58 and no booking. It does not stop at Terminal 2, so factor that in if you are flying from there. Rooms are compact, there is a public bath, and it is good value.
Pick this if you want a budget Keikyu room and you specifically need a return shuttle from the airport, not just a morning one.
Hotel Mystays Haneda

Rating: 8.2 Typically around ¥10,500 (£55) CHECK AVAILABILITY
A reliable value option with more space than most, including apartment-style rooms with a kitchenette, which makes it one of the better picks for families or longer stops. The free shuttle runs both morning and evening, first-come, though groups of eight or more are not allowed on it and there is nothing after midnight. It is a 4-minute walk to Anamori-Inari Station and about 7 to 10 minutes to Terminal 3. The area is quiet and residential.
Pick this if you want roomier accommodation or self-catering near the airport, with a shuttle that runs both ends of the day.
Mercure Tokyo Haneda Airport

Rating: 9.2 Typically around ¥15,000 (£80) CHECK AVAILABILITY
A stylish 4-star that opened in late 2023, bigger than most here at 363 rooms, with a well-reviewed breakfast and helpful staff. The free shuttle runs both ways but with limited hours: out to the airport from around 04:00, and airport pick-ups from around 17:30, with a gap in the middle of the day. It is a 4-minute walk to Otorii Station, three stops from Terminal 3.
Pick this if you want a newer, larger hotel with a good breakfast.
Toyoko Inn Tokyo Haneda Kuko

Rating: 8.1 Typically around ¥10,000 (£50) CHECK AVAILABILITY
The cheapest reliable option here, a no-frills budget chain across two adjacent buildings, with the free Japanese breakfast Toyoko Inn is known for. The free shuttle is morning-only and runs in the order Terminal 3, then 2, then 1, taking roughly 10, 20 and 25 minutes. There is no return shuttle, so you take the train back. Rooms are small and basic but clean and do the job for a night.
Pick this if your priority is keeping the cost down for an early flight.
Hotel MONday Haneda Airport

Rating: 8.6 Typically around ¥12,000 (£60) CHECK AVAILABILITY
A modern, comfortable hotel (formerly the Relief Premium Haneda Airport) with more spacious rooms than most and a well-liked bento breakfast. The free shuttle is morning-only: six departures between 04:10 and 09:10, one an hour, reaching Terminal 3 in about 10 minutes, Terminal 2 in 20 and Terminal 1 in 25. It has just 10 seats, first-come first served, no booking, and there is no evening return, so plan to take the train back from Otorii Station, a 2-minute walk away and a few minutes from T3.
Pick this if you want a roomier, modern room for an early flight and you are travelling light enough to grab one of the limited morning shuttle seats.
FAQ Haneda hotel shuttles
If you land late or fly out early, yes. A hotel by the airport saves you a stressful pre-dawn or near-midnight train across the city, and rooms here are usually cheaper than central Tokyo. If you land mid-afternoon with energy to spare, go straight into the city and save the airport night for your departure instead. As a rough rule, arrivals after about 21:00 or departures before about 09:00 are when a Haneda hotel really makes sense.
Yes, a few. Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu is inside Terminal 2, and it is on this list. For Terminal 3, the international terminal, Villa Fontaine Grand and the pricier Villa Fontaine Premier connect straight in. And First Cabin Haneda is a capsule hotel inside Terminal 1 if you just need a few hours of sleep between flights. You pay more for zero transfer, but for a very early or very late flight it can be worth every yen.
Almost always, yes. Every hotel on this list will hold bags at the front desk. That is handy if you arrive early, want to drop your case and head into Tokyo, or you have checked out but your flight is not until the evening. Worth confirming when you book if it is central to your plan.
For an international departure, aim to be at the terminal around 3 hours ahead. That is exactly why a morning shuttle, or a room inside the terminal, is so useful for a dawn flight. For a domestic flight, 90 minutes is usually plenty. Just remember to build in the shuttle time, and the fact that many run only once an hour.
Mostly the morning hotel-to-airport runs are first-come first served, no booking. But it is not universal. Henn na, for example, asks you to reserve the airport-to-hotel pickup ahead. Seats are limited on all of them, so check your hotel’s own rule when you book, and do not bank on a free seat if your flight is tight.
Conclusion
So there you have it, the best hotels near Haneda Airport with a free shuttle. One last thing worth repeating: treat the free shuttle as a useful bonus, not a guaranteed ride. Confirm the direction, the terminals it serves and the last departure when you check in, and keep the train in your back pocket. Get that right and you are only a short ride from the terminal, ready to head on to DisneySea or straight into Tokyo.
