I loved Marrakech as a city, I found the people very welcoming, the food excellent and enjoyed the range of things to do. That being said, after a while in the Medina it can be quite intense! This is why I strongly recommend adding some rooftop restaurants to your Marrakech itinerary, they can be your calm in the middle of the hustle and bustle.
Marrakech is blessed with many beautiful rooftop restaurants with some seriously stunning views while you dine. Some overlook busy areas of the Medina, some the buzzy Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, especially impressive at sunset and on a very clear day you can even get a glimpse of the Atlas mountains in the distance.
Sounds pretty ideal, right? But what are the best ones to pick and how do you find them? This is where I come in. This guide to the best rooftop restaurants in Marrakech will outline your best options, what cuisine to expect, where they are and what the bill might look like at the end of the meal! I have placed an interactive map of all the places I recommend at the bottom of the article.

FAQ’s and Dining Tips for Marrakech Rooftop Restaurants and Bars
Do I need to make a reservations?
The best dining spots can get quite busy, especially during peak tourist seasons (spring and autumn). To secure a spot at one of these coveted rooftop restaurants or bars, it’s wise to make a reservation well in advance.
For places like Nomad or Le Salama, which are particularly popular, booking a few weeks ahead might be necessary, we were lucky and got in by being more flexible with when we ate, so I recommend considering this.
Sunset times are especially popular for their stunning views. So aim to book for either slightly earlier or later if youβre looking for a quieter slot.
What should I wear to dinner in Marrakech?
When dining out in Marrakech, it’s best to opt for smart casual attire. For women, a long-sleeved dress or top paired with trousers or a skirt is a great choice. Men can wear a lightweight shirt and chinos. Marrakech is a relatively conservative city, so dressing modestly is appreciated, especially if you’re dining in more traditional or upscale restaurants.
Can I pay on card at restaurants in Marrakech?
Most of the list above, especially the more tourist-oriented restaurants in Marrakech accept credit cards, it’s still a good idea to carry some cash with you. Smaller, local eateries and market stalls often prefer cash payments. Always check with the restaurant beforehand to avoid any inconvenience.
